GE Series Six PLC was the first of a kind; this modular PLC was released in the 1980s, and it came in three (3) CPU configurations Model 60, Model 600, and Model 6000 allowing for more memory and larger I/O capacity.
GE had long discontinued the Series Six PLC when it positioned the Series 90-70 as the replacement. As of October 1st, 2017 GE has deemed series 90-70 to have reached the end of its life and recommended users to transition to the PACSystems RX3i.
